I have been going to Yoga class for about a year now and one thing is clear – I hate it! The difficult poses I have to perform, the uncomfortable stretches that cause pain, the advanced Yogis who make it look too easy. I hate it all.

Meditation During Yoga?

It seemed like an impossible task. It’s hard enough for any normal person to perform those amazingly complex Yoga poses for even a few milliseconds (Yoga masters with perfect bodies don’t count…they aren’t normal). And now we’re supposed to add meditation to it?

As a lot of Hindus know, in the Ramayana, Price Ram was exiled for 14 years. However, what most Hindus may not know is that in the original Valmiki Ramayana, the story only covered 4 years in time.

Hinduism, as everybody knows, is a varied and complex religion with many Gods, many rituals, and many celebrations. It is based in Temples that are either in a central location or in a home. However, according to B.N. Hebbar, a professor who teaches at GWU and other universities around the Washington DC region, Hinduism of thousands of years ago, known as Vedic Hinduism, is completely different and has all but vanished.

Your Life is Your Message is a book by Eknath Easwaran, an Indian author who moved to California and stayed there until his death a few years ago.
